Friday Night Lights

So if you have ever heard of the show Friday Night Lights, and you heard I am a fan, you are probably thinking I am 12 year old girl with an obsession with the actor Taylor Kitsch. But believe it or not, I am a 19 year old football fanatic. I love the show FNL because it is so genuine. It is a show about high school football in rural Texas, it is filmed in Texas and has some genuine Texans as actors. One of the actors was just a bull rider at the rodeo before he got a roll on the show, he looks like a normal teenager with a face covered in acne. The conversations in the show are very natural as well, most of the show is improvisation. The director gives the actors the gist of what needs to happen in the scene and the actors take it from there. The show is not glamourous, it is gritty and real. It may involve sex, drinking and general poor moral decisions in basically every episode but it reaches the audience in a way that many shows do not. It allows you into the stories of each character and the viewer can bond with them through their highs and their lows, their battles and their triumphs. I am sure everything I have said is tacky, but I am not embarrassed to proclaim my love for FNL, even if I am not in the demographic.

    I'm so excited to hear about another Friday Night Lights fanatic! I am so upset that they didn't bring it back for another season! But I completely agree about the genuine aspect of the show. I love that it shows how much the players struggle for their sport. I definitely related to it in high school because I felt the same pressures in cross country, swimming and track.

    I think that the movie is awesome as well. As a former high school football player myself, I can relate to the movie very well.

    I think i just might have to watch this show! It sounds like it covers real high school issues like sex, drinking and decision making.

    I have only seen an episode or two from the series, so I'm not completely familiar with the whole story line, but what I have seen I have really liked. I feel like the show is very realistic; the plot deals with real life issues instead of fluffed up teenage drama that so many other shows use.

    I like this show because I really can relate to a lot of the characters. It seems like real life more than just a TV show, which is why I enjoy watching it so much.

    I am sorry, but all I have to say is GREATEST SPORTS MOVIE OF ALL TIME. I just think the movie encompasses all the heart break and action of high school football. Never watched the show though.

    I never watched the show, only because Friday Night Lights the movie is my favorite movie, so I just didnt have an interest in the show. My mom and sister watch it, so I'm sure I would like it. I just never got into it.
